Our internally developed geophysical device is suitable for non-destructive testing of earthworks, embankments.
On the following figures a few results are shown from embankment surveys performed by our company. Yellow indicates cracked or granular sections, red indicates sections with good impermeable properties, while green and brown indicate transitional sections.
The survey discovered a high resistivity, granular segment where inappropriate waterproofing represents a potential threat.
Even small changes in the embankment’s resistivity can indicate severe danger; in the below example water outflow happened at the break in the red line (impermeable layer).
On the below figure buried backwater can be discovered which is a potential area of leakage under the main body of the embankment.
In the best-case scenario, the different phases of the embankment’s construction can be discovered.
